I came accross this article yesterday.  I don't understand how this could be.

I totally agree with you nalissa2…it seems as though this site has it out for Castle.  I myself have been recruiting friends, family, co-workers, etc.  I have few extra people going to watch it next week.  Even stopped up at the bowling alley last night to spread the word to some of the girls I used to bowl with.  They said they would check it out.  But most said they would DVR it.    ABC cannot cancel this show. 

I don't think The Forgotten will survive after the free fall it had this week. It was beat out by Leno which ABC cannot be happy about. I don't think they can even move it to another night in hopes of gaining back some of those viewers it lost. It's possible they swap places with Castle for a test run but I think it's doubtful. I really believe The Forgotten will be the first show canceled by ABC among the 1 hour dramas.

Eastwick lost 2 million viewers and dropped to a 2.4 in the key demo from its premiere last week. Technically it beat out Castle again (2.4 vs 2.3) but Castle had a little over 3 million more viewers. I'm not sure a .1 in the key demo clearly puts it ahead of Castle in chances of survival. BUT in the next edition of the index rating on tvbythenumbers it will have Eastwick ahead of Castle because of that .1 higher rating. Just keep in mind that they chart strictly by the numbers without factoring in other stuff. It's the purpose of the site.

If ABC hopes to keep one of the new struggling dramas it's more likely they give Eastwick (over The Forgotten) a test run in Castle's timeslot to see if it can do better than the numbers Castle has been turning in. If they make that move in the next 2-3 weeks then it leads me to believe that ABC is leaning towards keeping Eastwick over Castle. Especially if Eastwick performs better than Castle did in the same timeslot.

I think the next few weeks will be telling for our Castle.

Conspiracy? Probably not. Bias? Absolutely.

For a site that is concerned with only dealing in "facts" they sure do a lot of hypothesizing based on incomplete facts and presented as an inevitable outcome.

1. They claim that the data is based on scripted shows. Yet their denouncing of Castle happened well before any of ABC’s other scripted shows aired. The Forgotten now has that dubious honor.
2. On Thurs after ratings for The Forgotten & Eastwick came out, they again ran an article again about the poor performance of scripted shows, but instead of showing a picture of The Forgotten or Eastwick they once again, used a photo from Castle leading people to think, upon first glance, that Castle is ABC’s lowest rated show.

I will continue to do what I can to help save this wonderful show and what will happen, will happen. However I will not continue to read anything from that site unless it is written with a less biased outlook.

Nalissa, I agree with you. I've always kept an eye on ratings but ever since I started reading that site it's become a downer. I don't think any conspiracy is at play but it's definitely bias. One poster (who doesn't watch Castle) in the comments section explained that it started last season and all these Castle fans would jump in defense. They figure that the site uses Castle because it brings in the fans that way. No one is going to get too upset over the headline claiming The Forgotten in on the bubble. That could be part of it but Heroes is down for NBC, Dollhouse is really bad for Fox, and Medium isn't all that for CBS. My point is that they could one of those shows (who have a loyal following like our Castle) as the posterboy but they choose Castle instead.

Oh well, they've lost me as a follower on that site.
