Ashley, thanks for posting. I went to school in Champaign, so it was very cool to hear them talk about the university and surrounding area. I don’t remember a Pekara’s bakery when I attended school there (yes they had running water back then), but it was very cool of Stana to share all that information. Hope the bakery gets alittle publicity out of it, as her comment was obviously spontaneous and not a planned plug.
Literally counting the hours before tonight’s episode. The next couple of episodes look too good to miss, and everyone in my house knows not to mess with the DVR scheduling.
Anyone heard word on Season 3?
I go almost directly past Pekara's when I go visit my nephew who lives 10 miles East of Champaign (in St Joseph). They have WONDERFUL bread!!! Sounds like her brother, Dushan, is a U of IL student likely working there part time. Pekara is on North Neil Street.
I think he's working there permanently
Look what I've found and I think it's Dusan in the photo and really great article about him – http://www.smilepolitely.com/f…..ugh_in_cu/

Thank you Ashley for posting, hope you'll get a good night sleep tonight after Castle
and did she say they'll stop filming on April 4?
Nope, Stana said April 8th for the last day of filming second season of "Castle".
My thanks to Ashley (as everyone else has said), and even better than Stana's comment about the 8th of April being the end of the filming season for Castle is that her "peeps" are apparently in talks for her to begin working on a movie about then. She sounds like a busy lady.

Thanks for the article. I've eaten at Pekara's before, but not for quite awhile since my neph and his wife moved from Champaign to about 10 miles east of there. However, they're always up for trying new places out to eat when I visit, so perhaps we'll have to try out Pekara's and the sourdough bread the article mentioned. And you're right, it sounds like Dusan got a degree, then was bored, and is working on another degree at the U of IL. It also sounds like he's a heck of a breadmaker!!!

OfflineThank Goodness for the hosts!
Sooooo much better than the other radio interview! At least the dude knows her movie and TV career, not just "Stiletto"…haha. A BIG thank you to the hosts! AND they said her name right! Nicely done!
ashley: What would my life be without you and your techy-ness?? Haha.

They probably have a head start on pronouncing her name correctly. There are a reasonable number of folks named "Katic" in the general Champaign-Urbana and Northern Illinois area (immigrant population). I believe Stana's brothers–at least one of them–(approx the same age as my nephews) played sports in high school (as did my nephews) and had his name in the paper as a result.

wow thanks for the links everyone…. dusan katic has quite the background as well! but i'm not sure what a private french military is (foreign legion?).
are there any more katic siblings?
Well, she has four brothers and 1 sister.
In one of the interviews I read, she said she's very proud of them. Stana is the oldest. Stana said they are all tall. And that all of the six children were born in a span 7 years. hahaha.
http://thehollywoodinterview.b…..rview.html
How many siblings do you have?
There’s six of us. I’m the oldest. There’s about seven years between all of us, from top to bottom. We’re all oddballs doing different things in the world, and they’re all on their way to growing into really interesting adults, although I don’t know if any of us will ever really be adults, because we’re all really strange. (laughs)
“Strange” must mean they’re all very interesting.
They are, and they’re all beautiful, really tall, and they’re all adventuresome. They’re wonderful spirits and I’m really honored to have them as my siblings. It’s like walking with an army when we go someplace together. (laughs) I’m really proud of them.
In the interview she also talks about her parents. I love how she talks about them. They seem like a really close-knit family.
