Good article.  I'm confident Andrew Marlowe knows what he is doing even though Castle is his first TV series.  I'm glad all the characters are getting screen time because the supporting cast of Castle is superb.

Interesting interview.

I admit, I kind of worry at how the show will play out over the long term. Obviously we won't know until it actually happens, but I think that there is a good chance it would be a mistake to drag Johanna Beckett's murder out over the course of this season plus 2 more. There does need to be something that drives the show, but if it isn't handled perfectly with such a long timeline, viewers get bored. With the relationship between the two of them, again, you want it to move forward and watch it unfold, but then again you also need more than just a "will they/won't they" element because viewers again, just want something to happen after a point.

As I said, they may handle it very well. Castle has some amazing writers and it is by far one of the best shows on television. The actors are all very strong so the magic is there. Lets hope that they don't fall in to the various traps that other tv shows have and have then ended up worse for wear after the fact.

Nice interview, but I don't think Andrew actually said anything we didn't already know…

But I'm still with him on all points.  The longer it takes Castle and Beckett to get together, the more believable it is that they will stay together.  And in regards to Johanna's case, if Castle comes in to help and they solve it in a matter of a couple of episodes that is absolutely unfair to Beckett's character, who worked on that case for years!  Bringing Castle on board to help should make the case solvable, but not instantly solved.  I can't wait to see it all unfold.  *high fives Andrew*
