A question about Castle was in this week's Ask Matt column in the US TV Guide website:

Question: I'm a huge fan of Castle and a Castle/Beckett shipper. What are your predictions about a little bit of romance between the two characters leading to a more serious commitment? And when is ABC going to officially announce a season 3 renewal?—Katarzyna

Matt Roush: Given that I’ve heard the show is seeking to cast a new potential love interest for Beckett, I’m betting Castle is in no rush to do more than tease us with the duo’s sexual tension for the foreseeable future. It would be a mistake for this show in particular to rush anything. Just relax and enjoy for now. And don’t worry about renewal. ABC’s early pick-up of its Wednesday comedies was a special announcement to celebrate the success of that strategy. Castle is in no danger at this point, and while ABC may not make it official before the May upfronts, I don’t think this can be seen any longer as being “on the bubble.”

Thanks for sharing DJ!  I know it's nothing official, but I like to see positive prospects for season 3 in print.

I'm getting used to the idea of this new love interest for Beckett now.  With the topics of the upcoming 3 episodes, they are going to need to do something to slow Castle and Beckett's relationship/sexual tension down.  The ride is so much fun!

I agree with dmcw about the love interest. At first, I didn't like it, but it's the next step in the process, an obstacle if you will. Until now, Castle has just sat back, maybe it will push him in the right direction and I would like it if we see some jealous bantor!

They are going to leave us all with a cliffhanger, im sure of it!

Ah, Moonlighting syndrome. The fear that the show will die when the two leads finally stop dicking about and get together

I enjoyed his answer too. The season 3 outlook especially.

I really like his answer about the new love interest though. It's true. Enjoy the ride. Too many are looking for the shoe to drop when they start making the mistakes other shows have made. Me? I'm going to enjoy the ride and not worry about mistakes until/if they start making them.

i'm still firmly entrenched with camp castle support group, but i have to grudgingly admit his character needs something like this as a kick in the backside to find a way to step it up somehow (and still pull on her pigtails without getting shot by her lol).
