There's more to it than the overnights, and there's more to it than the raw numbers. I think that "not in imminent danger, but it would be nice if the numbers went up" sums it up pretty well. Castle has been holding its audience–it has a steadfast core base, and it is doing better in its time slot than most other shows ABC has put there have. There are signs it is starting to grow its base, too. If it can grow the base more, that would be really good.

But premature cancellation panic is counter-productive, and can, in fact, be harmful, since it scares off people on the edge of committing. We're still early in the season. The most helpful thing right now is to let people know the show is fantastic, let ABC know you love it, watch it, watch it on Hulu, get your friends to watch it on Hulu, etc. Namely, all the stuff you have been doing :)
