m-hanh – thanks for directing us to this article.. I just asked the author to explain what he bases his opinion on.. It bugs me when people say things like that but give no basis for their opinion or explanation.. if your going to give your opinion – then don't say flippant criticisms like that without explaining what you are basing your opinion on!!! Maybe us castle fans should bombarde him with comments!!!

It's nice to see Castle get press, but I wasn't too thrilled with this blurb. I had to leave a comment too. Flimsy? I also was confused by the "channeling Mariska Hargitay" comment!?

Thank you for posting this. I'm glad like you all are that Castle's starting to get some more attention, but what are they basing this review on???

Even if they were basing it on one episode, how can you say that about Nathan and Stana? It doesn't compute

I don't think this guy even watches Castle nor Law & Order: SVU becasue Detective Beckett and Detective Olivia Benson are totally different. Yes, they are both NY Detectives but one works only in sex crimes and the other works homicide. Another thing is, Detective benson has so many issues and although she is one of my favorites on tv, I hated that she has meaningless sex, turns to alcohol and has alot of anger and issues. And also Kate's issue regarding her mother has to do with her mother getting murdered while Olivia Benson's issues regarding her mother has to do with her being the result of her mother's rape. Her mother was an alcoholic and also her mother beat her. From how Kate talks about her mother, she was a good woman and truly loves her mother.

Both Stana and Mariska are stunningly beautiful, that's one thing they have in common.

Also another difference is that Kate has fabulous clothes, well, I think it's only in the past maybe 3 or 4 seasons that I like Olivia Bensons clothes. The first few seaons, her outifts were so unfeminine.

Regarding the spisode they are commenting on, can I just say I so want her coat!

Nice for Castle to get some press, but I get the idea that the person who wrote it probably is not a regular viewer. More like they were assigned to write about it, watched one episode and that was that?

Obviously you are not a continuous viewer of Castle. If you were, you would see that the banter is completely amazing and quick witted. As for the lead characters, both are no where near flimsy. Your writing on the other hand….

One only needs to watch the 2nd sneak peek for episode 15 on ABC.com (an extended version of the 4th clip on tv.com) to know that the banter is plenty sharp! It's nice to see Beckett capable of some dirty flirting…

I agree with IMW- and I have to mention that no other weekly mag mentioned Castle's February 8th episode except US Weekly so the fact there's even press for it is more than enough. Hopefully there will be more mention in the weeklies esp since the ratings are climbing. But we have to respect people's opinions too- people have different tastes, and not every person will like the show. There's no need to insult or attack- instead us fans should be thinking of ways to "sell" the show to others and promote it positively.

But, since we are all so analytical about Castle, try re-reading the article again:

I agree!! We love the show, and don't enjoy any criticisms- I needed to take a deep breath before responding- and then I got plain curious about what he was basing it on!!

I think we have all raised good points, valid criticisms in a respectable way.. I do hope we hear a response – I genuinely want to know why he thought the characters are flimsy..

I guess he has seen an episode that we haven't seen, the episode this is based on is suicide squeeze isn't it? … but- If someone is going to state their opinion, they should be prepared to back it up and present their case. It was a very flippant review.. not a good idea when there are some seriously loyal Castle fans who probably deserve a bit more care in what this guy says.. know what I mean?

I agree we should respect him and his opinions, and he needs to respect us Castle fans too! :) the 'flimsy' comment bugged me.. but at the same time- it is a positive review so all in all not so bad!

I think the banter was is super sharp! so sharp he blinked and missed it.. maybe he needs to get into Castle training so he catches it in future ;) just jokes!! I scratch my head at how he can say the banter needs to be sharper – ouch!! Hmm.. maybe he got Castle mixed up with another show!
