Overall a positive review, however I take exception to one particular comment, I'm sure you'll know which one. Still nice to see Castle get more mentions in the press.

m-hanh – thanks for directing us to this article.. I just asked the author to explain what he bases his opinion on.. It bugs me when people say things like that but give no basis for their opinion or explanation.. if your going to give your opinion – then don't say flippant criticisms like that without explaining what you are basing your opinion on!!! ' class='wp-smiley' /> Maybe us castle fans should bombarde him with comments!!!

It's nice to see Castle get press, but I wasn't too thrilled with this blurb. I had to leave a comment too. Flimsy? I also was confused by the "channeling Mariska Hargitay" comment!?

I'm not quite sure what to make of that review. It's nice that Castle is starting to get more press, but this reviewer seems a bit clueless..
like they're basing their review on just one episode.

Thank you for posting this. I'm glad like you all are that Castle's starting to get some more attention, but what are they basing this review on???
Even if they were basing it on one episode, how can you say that about Nathan and Stana? It doesn't compute

Um yeah, enough with the comparisons, already. Stana is clearly a talented actor in her own right, as I think she has definitively and especially proven this season. You'd think that after nearly two seasons the critics would be recognizing her work for HERS at this point. It's annoying. That said, since most of the other cop shows (which Castle kind of fits, but really doesn't, imho) have been on for like 45 years, I guess maybe Stana is still too "new" for them to take the time to actually research. And God forbid they watch more than one episode. Does anyone remember when entertainment writers weren't this lazy? Because I do, and it wasn't that long ago. :P

I don't think this guy even watches Castle nor Law & Order: SVU becasue Detective Beckett and Detective Olivia Benson are totally different. Yes, they are both NY Detectives but one works only in sex crimes and the other works homicide. Another thing is, Detective benson has so many issues and although she is one of my favorites on tv, I hated that she has meaningless sex, turns to alcohol and has alot of anger and issues. And also Kate's issue regarding her mother has to do with her mother getting murdered while Olivia Benson's issues regarding her mother has to do with her being the result of her mother's rape. Her mother was an alcoholic and also her mother beat her. From how Kate talks about her mother, she was a good woman and truly loves her mother.
Both Stana and Mariska are stunningly beautiful, that's one thing they have in common.
Also another difference is that Kate has fabulous clothes, well, I think it's only in the past maybe 3 or 4 seasons that I like Olivia Bensons clothes. The first few seaons, her outifts were so unfeminine.
Regarding the spisode they are commenting on, can I just say I so want her coat!

I get the impression the reviewer is not a full time viewer since the comparison to Mariska is something someone would do to compare someone they are not familiar with to someone more viewers are aware of since Mariska also plays a tough NYPD detective.
Yes, to us Beckett is much more layered than Olivia but to the occasional viewer you always have to compare it to something. That's the impression I was getting. It was like an assignment; written without much enthusiasm or insight. JMO

Nice for Castle to get some press, but I get the idea that the person who wrote it probably is not a regular viewer. More like they were assigned to write about it, watched one episode and that was that?

"Sharper banter would help?" Whaaaat? Yeah, that had to be written by someone who is only a casual viewer and not a committed fan, because they've obviously missed some really sharp banter between those characters.

Clueless doesn't begin to describe that writer.
I commented with this:
Obviously you are not a continuous viewer of Castle. If you were, you would see that the banter is completely amazing and quick witted. As for the lead characters, both are no where near flimsy. Your writing on the other hand….

Stana deserves so much more than that comment about her performance. Does anyone get less credit than she does on this show? Not to mention the flimsy and better banter remarks about the show.

One only needs to watch the 2nd sneak peek for episode 15 on ABC.com (an extended version of the 4th clip on tv.com) to know that the banter is plenty sharp!:shock: It's nice to see Beckett capable of some dirty flirting…

While obviously we're all huge fans, I think it is important that when we address those who are not without actually insulting them. Perhaps we can urge them to give it a bit more of a chance or something of that nature. We want to make sure we don't turn them off completely. I don't know how else to phrase it without sounding preachy… I hope the message makes sense though. : ) Carry on.
And yes, I have to agree with Jamz; Stana deserves more credit than she receives.
