OfflineI was on Entertainment Weekly's website and noticed an article. It talks about favorite actors having roles in so-so shows and Nathan Fillion is mentioned. The article is by Ken Tucker (I don't think he really cares for Castle) and it is quite interesting to read. For me, I have never watched Firefly (only seen bits of episodes), but I think Nathan is doing great work on Castle. What does everyone think?
Here's the link to the article.

OnlineI saw that article, Ken Tucker wrote a similar one several months ago that was not very flattering either. He really doesn't like Castle, which is fine, it's not everyone's cup of tea. I get the vibe from both of his articles that he's fanatical about Firefly and would probably be unhappy with anything that Nathan Fillion did that was not Firefly. I love Firefly, but it's over, time to move on. Regardless of how well loved Firefly was, it wasn't a commercal sucess, which is the name of the game in TV.
Castle so-so? Not in my book. It's a funny, well acted, entertaining, successful show with actors that have charisma coming out their ears. Now I'll get off my soapbox.

OfflineI read that article too, Leftfield, that was several months ago. Okay, so we get that Ken Tucker is not a fan of Castle. Why does he continue to write about it if it doesn't appeal to him? He is entitled to his opinion about it, as am I entitled to my opinion about Ken Tucker. The guy is an idiot!
We do have the support of Mandi Bierly on EW, who in her own right, seems to have developed a bit of OCD. Her articles are always praising and fantastic of Castle. We also get the support and spoiler bits from Ausiello that don't contain negativity.
It is time for Ken Tucker to just move on.

Hahaha… I love FF but to suggest that Castle is inferior is just dumb.
It's a bit like comparing apples and oranges. Two very different types of shows, I love Firefly but really feel that it appeals to a pretty narrow group of people because of it's genre (quirky science fiction). A show like Castle has a much broader appeal, mystery, comedy, romance. Ken Tucker is certainly not required to love or even like Castle but I'm not sure that he's being particularly objective. His opinion looks to be colored by the fact that he REALLY REALLY likes Firefly.

OfflineI get so tired of this clown comparing Firefly to Castle. I love both shows and think that both roles have been good for Nathan. As much as I loved Firefly, it is over, but Castle is still around to enjoy and I do enjoy it. It seems Mr. Tucker just doesn't want to enjoy Castle because he can't let go of Firefly long enough to give Castle a chance. Shame on Mr. Tucker and EW for continuing to let him print this stuff.

OfflineFirefly is kind of the Holy Grail for some shippers. Should a sequel ever be made with the original staff, I bet even that would be a disappointment to them. I like it too (I had started to see Castle because of Fillion), but as it was pointed here and in the comments over EW it is over. It was perfectly suited for Nathan, but I think it will partly a curse for him, because of the shippers who do not want to accept that you can have joy to see FF on DVD each day, but an actor wants (and needs) to play new roles. Some are better, some are worse, but as it was also commented, any actors trades a 10 epsiode cult show to a 10 year serie. Nathan himself is the perfect example to this. Remember that in some of his interview he noted that he almost could not handle the fact that Castle was renewed for the third season, as it never happened to him!
Beside this, Castle is opinioned as show which is loved because of its actors, not because of the visual stunts or the mind twisting cases. What could be a greater honor to an actor than something is successful because of him? So Ken Tucker has an opinion about Nathan Fillion and Castle what I'm sure that even Nathan Fillion wouldn't agree.
That one remark about him and Stana, that they hate each other was an "I'm almost sure that I read it somewhere" blurb, the poster simply mixed them with news about another show.

Agreed.
That man seems to really have a thing against Castle. Now, what I'd (really, REALLY) like to see is Mandi Bierly and Ken Tucker get into a debate over Castle… with Mandy Bierly absolutely crushing Ken Tucker, of course.

EXACTLY and that's why I said his opinion is dumb. Sure, he's entitled to have an opinion but being an educated viewer; ie one who writes about TV for a living and knows it's two different type of shows (each successful in its own right) to make a statement like that is just showing his bias. It is neither informative or objective. Not the kind of journalism anyone should listen to anyway. He's just trying to stir the pot like his last piece..

OfflineI've read this article and searched for the previous one too. Conclusion: not worth a word wasting. He simply put Nathan on a pedestal (I have no problem with it), and feels like an abuse if he plays something what dosen't reach his expectation. The minor thing that Nathan would be the last who would want to be a monument of himself seemingly doesn't disturb him.
What was interesting that there were comments which told that there are no chemistry between Castle and Beckett. It showed how difficult task is to write and act a show, because there are always people who can't see what everybody sees and react in a totally different way. For those ones probably even Romeo and Juliet would be some forced teenager drama.

he posted this article to get attention he knows how strongly people reacted the first time so he's gone back for round 2.
Why in the hell does this guy keep picking on Castle & Nathan Fillion?
He needs to go pick on Glee or the folks who keep making the silly casting decison on DWTS………
