Castle continued its success on Australia's Seven network after episode three, "Hedge Fund Homeboys" aired on Sunday night. Of the top 15 programs of the day the only programs that saw an increase in viewers this week were news and current affairs with reality and drama programs suffering a drop in the number of viewers.

Despite a decrease this week "Castle" remained 31,000 ahead of the series premiere two weeks ago. In contrast, "CSI: NY" which airs simultaneously on the Nine network has lost 204,000 viewers in the last two weeks and in the earlier timeslot of 8:30pm, "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" lost 137,000 viewers.

Of particular interest this week was the Australian television premiere of  the "Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead" special on ABC1 which attracted over a million viewers pushing "Castle" out of the #12 position.

Perhaps feeling threatened by "Castle", next week the Nine network has opted to air two current episodes of "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" with "CSI: NY" to follow an hour later than usual.
