I must be missing something. She seems so *fake*. (The character – not the actress).

If she's ever in a mood it's a cute one, and everything she does comes across as a privileged prima donna. Her jeans are tame, she never has a bad hair day, every movement falls into a charming pose suitable for framing. She's clearly living in an "I'm smarter than daddy and richer than Croesus" world. It's too sweet. Makes the show hard to watch.

I'm not saying Alexis should channel RoseAnne's heinous slag of an offspring, but maybe Mel Gibson's daughter in What Women Want (Ashley Johnson)? I'm just sayin – she's an insanely beautiful girl, but we want to watch her be human.

It's only enabled by "Grandma," played by a theatrical legend. I'd welcome a relationship more like Gilmore Girls (early seasons), where Grandma fought to leave her shell and Rory fought to find one. The Castle women are in stasis – too happy where they are. There's no tension. It's too pretty. You could leave it out entirely and all you'd miss are cheesecake shots and lame, pointless "banter" to frame Castle as an even more successful hero.

I think somebody is missing a chance to play with Alexis and Grandma. It's a shame for all – Alexis is in a great spot for a spin-off, but who wants to watch the perfect whitebread life continue its perfect ascent?

Friends was about their collective *failures*. Clueless made fun of itself (classic: AS picks herself up off of the ground after being "mugged" and whines about her shoes; epilog commented about this "is not Kentucky"). The bottom line: Castle (and, by extension, Alexis) takes itself way too seriously.

Quite the exact opposite, I think you totally missed the point of the show.
But hey, everybody's entitled to have his/her own opinion. :)

Thank you Admin! I think it's about time that we had good teenage girls on television, and I feel it's very nice and refreshing to see that! That's why I love Alexis' character so much – she proves that there are nice female teenagers in the world. (Maybe it's because I'm a nice female teenager myself, but it proves that we do exist!)

Also, if I recall correctly, Alexis did feel guilty about doing something bad in Hedge Fund Homeboys. With all the talk about the murdered teen, she comes clean to her dad about jumping the turnstile at the subway. That makes her human, in my opinion, because it shows that she actually lied to her dad about something. Being too perfect for me would have her never lying to her dad, but they established that early on.

Sorry, just needed to get that out there, it was on my mind after I read your post cafeco.

As an actor, I feel like you’re asked to live life as vibrantly as possible.

I couldn't agree more. We see so many bad girls on tv and it is time that we see a good girl who is mature and represents the teens who have got it all together.

I agree as well. I also think that the show as a dramedy would not support large doses of teenage angst and trouble. In addition, Alexis serves as a lovely contrast to her impulsive father and grandmother, which makes for a lot of great scenes.

This is what Molly wrote about her Castle co-stars on her FB page:

Stana's fans are called the "Stanatics" and they are excited. My dad and every guy I know are fans of hers. :) She is not just super-model pretty, she is nice too.
And hello… Susan Sullivan has such inner and outer beauty her fans are ecstatic and extremely loyal.
Then there's Tamala, a stunningly exotic beauty with curves to match.
I have to say even girls take a second appreciative look at her. :)

about that time a couple of executive producers came around the corner
and they were not happy. :) But, they know somebody has to play with
Nathan, so they tried to keep their sense of humor.

For instance, I know Nathan sneaks into my trailer and plays with my dog when I am on set, but… he doesn't think I know. He loves her and really can't stay away from her. Anyway, last night when I was doing an interview with my "TV boyfriend, Ashley" for some video blog for ABC, Nathan totally sneaks in from the back. Not only does he steal the interview, but he is carrying my dog and grinning like the cat that ate the canary. The interview really went south after that. :) Good times. Ha
