The part that tears me up every single time is when he goes over to Jenna's house and just holds her and she says something like "baby I hope you have someone who holds you for 20 minutes stragiht, does try to kiss you, just holds you" <sigh>
Oh yer and the pie baking part where he keeps pushing her hair out of the way and kissing her neck, gives me goosebumps that scene.

I agree on all counts, Deb. He is just swoon-worthy at every turn. I can't get over how that movie makes you root for the couple who are cheating on their spouses- I mean with Jenna there's no qualms. Earl is about the most despicable human being… well, ever. But Dr. Pomatter? Why do I want him to cheat on his wife? It's really interesting how the movie makes me want that. Let's see if I can think up another quote…
Dr. Pomatter: I have to go to St. Mary's now and deliver a baby. Because that's what I do.

Well…the scenario I have though up is that his wife married Jim piss off her father who is the Head of Surgery or something like that at a big hospital and didn't think Jim was good enough for his daughter.
Jim knows it but he does, or did, love his wife so when she gets offered residency well away from her father they take it as Jim is hoping it will save his marriage but she's cheating on him behind his back with some hospital big wig here to further her career.
When he meets Jenna he connects with her and realises what he feels for his wife isn't love at all, maybe even dislike? She's all sweet in loving in public to keep up her image, but in private she's a witch so he doesn't feel very guilty over cheating with Jenna.
What do you reckon?

Hahaha, well there's got to be something going on, right? Very elaborate theory there, Deb. Side note: Did you notice that Francine Pomatter is Meredith? Seriously, same actress. So if Francine was cheating on Jim, that makes twice that Darby Stanchfield's character has cheated on Nathan's.

<grabs remote> OMG It is too!!! Wow I never actually noticed that before. Nathan's characters definitely have a thing for red heads don't they LOL and sending him to that special brand of hell 
I just love the look on Nathan's face when he bites into the tarts that Jenna brought when he opens up at 7:00 am to see her, I always thought that was Nathan's reaction not so much Jim's reaction, make sense?
In one interview the guy says something to Nathan about making out with Kerri Russell and he says something like "yep hard day at work hey!" and they both laugh, I'd say lucky Kerri 
This scene always gets me

Jenna's reaction there is so perfect, isn't it? That's about all I could muster if I was in her place. Just wow…
That entire house-call scene is just pure swoon from start to finish. I love that scene so much I've actually tried to make Lonely Chicago Pie, and well- it's pretty tasty. Who would've guessed that cinnamon, chocolate, and blackberries would go well together? But they do. Yum.
Ah, who am I kidding? I love every scene Dr. Pomatter is in. And most of the ones that he's not in, lol. Waitress has become one of my all-time favorites. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
Dr. Pomatter: Don't do that.
Jenna: Okay, I won't. Kiss you, you mean?
Dr. Pomatter: No not that. I didn't mean that.

Well actually he finds his way to her 
Jenna does open her own pie shop somewhere and then one day, oh about a year later, she looks up and standing in her pie shop is Jim. He's left his ex-wife as he's fed up with her cheating but has never been able to get Jenna out of his head.
He pulled into this pie store as he's tired and hungry and hopes there is a room available somewhere in town as he's been driving for days, just to get away. He can't believe it when he opens the door and Jenna is behind the counter, sweetly humming that "baby don't cry" tune.
She gets the shock of her life to see him standing there. To start with yes it was just sex but Jim actually listens to her and talks to her and Jenna was worried she was falling for the 'wrong' man again. (due to him being married)
LOL sorry I'm boring you all again! I've started writing it but its hard as I don't do 'sweet' fics very often but we'll see how it goes.
