Is this from this week's TV guide?
Kids Need to read just donated books to a local Elementary School in my town. It would be cool to grab a copy of this & show the teacher there. The ever heard of Nathan Fillion so this will be fun to show them!

I just got my issue and about fainted when I saw that TV Guide was giving Castle/Nathan such a spread. What a yummy picture of Nathan! It's about time they gave the show some more promotion.

I wish TV Guide would do a joint interview with Nathan and Stana. They've done it with David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel as well as Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni. They always turn out to be really cute and interesting reads. Glad to see that TV Guide is starting to give Castle more press, I just can't wait for it to be both stars.

Thanks & I will look for the Seasame Street cover.
Yes, Nathan is "yummy" "sexy" " and " your pick of adjective"
But seriously, I want to give some praise here for KNTR. My local elementary school which KNTR just donated to is 95% hispanic and 80% on the free lunch program. There is no money……and I mean NO money for new books & teaching martials. Our school district like many others around the country failed at the "No Child Left Behind Act" which targets low income & special education so the district has to reserve 10% of its annunal budget. This were the program is failing because with no funding, there is no help so the school relies heavily on volunteers & donations. Many childern are in the ESL program and come from families where they can't afford a new book or addiontal tutoring. This is a challenge because my community has been hit with hard times.
The new books will be used in the classrooms and to help launch a new literacy program. They are much appreicated. Anyone here who has donated to KNTR in the past, I just wanted to say Thank You. I wish I could bring you all to this school and show you myself how much new books are needed. I often can't believe this happens in our own country, but believe me it does. Of course we collect books at a book drive & garage sales, but they are all damaged, old and boring to children. Childrens book writen in Spanish & English are hard to find. Thankfully, KNTR donated those as well.
Sorry if I sound preachy, but I just don't feel like there is enough written about KNTR and just really how much they help low income schools. My school district currentlly has children reading at alarming low levels. The PTOs here are broke. This whole subject is a hot button for me (can you tell?)
So this Holiday season, buy a KNTR calender. Buy a children's book for a family in need. Read to a child. Keep watching Castle!
Thank You!

I picked up the TV Guide yesterday — awesome article!! I was beginning to wonder what TV Guide had against Castle–they rarely mention it. Incredible photo of Nathan!
I also teach at a low income school and I am hoping to get us involved with KNTR. I so agree with you, Spacegirl!!

Do fill out a donation request from KNTR. It is so easy! The books they donate are great & kids do enjoy them. My daughter has read some of the titles as she did enjoy them all. Not only are they books great for the library, but very useful for in class reading time.
I am hoping to fill another request from KNTR. Don't want to apprear greedy but there is just a lot of need for decent reading material for kids out there.

Hi Spacegirl32
No not preachy at all, the gift of teaching a child to read is amazing but not much point if they don't have anything TO read. Kids Need to Read do an amazing job. Funny thing is a friend of mine was telling me about this charity way before I even knew of Nathan LOL bit of a coincidence.
I want to order one of their Terrifying Con Monkeys as I think he's so cute.
