Empire Blog gave the birthday boy a nice shoutout. Here's wishing he could be Green Lantern, but what's the Preacher movie the comments mention?

Cool

Preacher was a comic book. I haven't read it, all I know is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preacher_(comics)

. . . but it sounds pretty awesome to me!  But I loved Nathan as Caleb, so I just want to see him in a priest outfit again. Laugh

I thought Nathan played a priest named Caleb in some episodes of Buffy? He was really creepy in that role. Hot……but creepy.

Nathan also had a very small role as a priest in the movie Dracula 2000.  The director of that movie was Patrick Lussier who wanted to work with Nathan again after that and that's how he ended up being cast in White Noise 2

"Preacher" was a fantastic graphic novel by the equally fantastic Mr Garth Ennis about a preacher who had been "gifted" the power of the voice of God; that is to say, when he used the voice on someone, they obeyed his commands.  He was also, with or without the voice, something of a s**tkicker  when the occasion called for it.  Following a crisis of faith, Jesse Custer  was traveling the length and breadth of America to find God and bring him to task for abandoning the human race. His traveling companions were his ex-girlfriend and an Irish vampire.

The comic book (being an Ennis creation) is one of the most ferociously blasphemous, rude, brutal, filthy things that you could imagine; it is also a fabulous examination of faith and religion, of family, friendship, loyalty and love, and of the state of the human race.  IF it makes it to TV or film in as intact a form as possible (which is doubtful for the reasons listed above) then, yes, yes, oh dear God, yes, please give Fillion the role of Jesse. (For Tulip, his girlfriend, Katee Sackhoff; for Cassidy, David Tennant would be left-field but choice.)

amd Dracula was played by Gerry Butler in one of his earliest roles so I already have it so I'll have to go and check Nathan out in it.

That movie was where I first saw G.B. Loved it. One of the better Dracula origin stories. And Nathan played the best friend of the protagonist, Mary played by Justine Waddell. He was Father.. David.. I think it was.

Terrirific movie set up for a sequel, but nothing ever came of it.

LOL its my least favourite Gerry film but the sex on the roof is pretty amazing and when he strides through Virgin with that long leather coat behind him but I think I've only seen it once as I'm just not into Dracula but of course as its a Gerry movie I had to have it, now of course I'll have to re-arrange my fan shelves of the DVD bookcase so its between Gerry's movies and Nathan's movies LOL. Anal, me NA wink
