Nathan Fillion is appearing in “The Thrilling Adventure and
Supernatural Suspense Hour”, a staged production in old time radio style
on Saturday June 5th at 8:30pm. The cast includes Nathan Fillion, Dave
Foley, Martin Starr, Linda Cardellini and more.

Advance tickets are on sale here
but expected to sell out quickly.

Awesome…lots of Freaks and Geeks people in the cast! Also, Blast from the Past reunion for Dave Foley and Nathan! I'm too far away to go though. As an aside, someone I used to know from Second City Detroit is also in the regular cast, which is cool.
Thumper, the ones I've been to, the cast all have scripts, and they gather around microphones to read their parts. Some actors play a few different roles using different voices for each character. There are also sound effects people who make the different sound effects, like using coconuts to make horse hoof sounds. They are all dressed in clothing from the 1920s or whatever time period they want to be in, trying to duplicate the atmosphere of when they used to do live radio shows.

You are correct Thumper! When I took a theater class in college we went to a couple of productions that had this same 1920's radio format. It was a lot of fun! I enjoyed them more because I wasn't distracted by the fancy sets. There usually isn't a lot of set changes either. You find yourself watching the actors more and often the stage is closer to the auidence BECAUSE you need to watch & listen to the actors.
I hope someone here can go! It will be a lot of fun!

WOW, what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall preferably without someone carrying a flyswapper around . Is that event being taped??? I saw one with William Shatner years ago and it was hilarious.

Totally bummed to be missing this one, but I have concert tickets. Its a really intimate theater, they don't really even need microphones to be heard. A friend is going, so if no one else from here goes, I'll get a recap from her and post here.
