I thought it would be nice to have a thread to go to meet new arrivals. 
Well my name is Rosie and I am a huge Nathan fan. I have been able to see him in person many times.
I am single, no kids of my own but I am Aunt Rosie, the babysitter of a total of 6 neices and nephews. So what I love to do for fun is travel to wherever the cast of Firefly is or to meet other Firefly fans aka Browncoats. If you don't know what Firefly is ask me. Its my favorite thing to talk about.

Hi, I'm also interested in Castle because I'm a fan of Nathan Fillion. I too have had the pleasure of meeting him on a couple of occassions – he seems like such a nice guy.
I'm single too and oddly enough have 6 nieces and newphews!

Hi Rosie and Em. I'm Dedra. Yep , here cuz I'm a Nathan fan. Rosie, I think its so cool that you are able to travel to all the firefly gatherings. I would love to do that myself, but time / money / job does not permit it. Or it hasn't as of yet. Lets not give up hope I always say. I LOVED firefly. The absolute best show created ever with the best casting possible ever! It still kicks me that it was cancelled. I have been a fan of Nathan's since he played Johnny in the series 'Two Guys and a Girl'. If I had known he was on 'One Life To Live' way back when I would of watched it, too! I did watch it this past year when he went back for their 50th anniversary I think it was …. he was wonderful and sang a little bit of this country song with one of the other characters. Their characters were brothers on the show. I'll watch anything he is in. I will buy anything that he is in. Anyway, I'm in Texas. A small town girl. I'm happily divorced with no children. I have 1 nephew and no nieces. Aside from being a Nathan fan, I'm also a movie nut. My favorite movies are usually action films or character driven films. I read fiction novels …. mostly Stephen King and Peter Straub. I used to be rock and roll, now I am country cuz country now sounds like rock in the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Oops! Did I give my age away? Okay, I'm in my forties. Anyway, enough about me …. I'm glad to be here and its nice to meet you both.

I notice you mention reading Steven King – did you see this in the description of Castle?
Keeping Castle grounded are his mother [Susan Sullivan], teenage daughter Alexis [Molly C. Quinn], poker playing friends James Patterson, Sue Grafton, and Stephen King and his ex wife Gina [Monet Mazur] who is also his editor.
I've heard people speculate that Steven King himself might make an appearance in the show – that would certainly be cool… but I'm not sure I beleive it.

I live is Southern California so I have not had to travel far. I do love traveling though and that is why I go to Dragon Con. My job has allowed me the flexibility to travel but I am not sure for how long.

Hi Em and Rosie. Yes I did notice the bit about Stephen King being one of Nick Castle's poker buddies. That would be cool if Mr. King made a cameo or more. So, did either of you see 'Dr. Horrible's Sing A Long Blog' starring my hero and yours? I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Nathan really did a great job being incredibly cheesey in it. Cheesey or not, he is always so very pretty. Well, I'm hoping not to loose power the next couple of days from Hurricane Ike. I'm luckily no longer along the coast of Texas. I moved farther north when hurricane Rita hit us a few years back, but am still close enough that we are supposed to get some pretty strong winds and heavy storms. Hum …. California sounds NICE right about now! See ya'll later.

Dr Horrible? For sure! Totally awesome – I heard that the soundtrack has hit the top 40 charts, even though currently it's only been released on iTunes. The Dr Horrible team say it's going to be available in a non-iTunes format soon, but how awesome is that!! Personally, I'm hainging out for the DVD release – all those wonderful extras I'm hearing about…
I hope you weather the storm ok – as Mal would say you'll "pass through it soon enough"…

Hi. I'm back. I, too, have heard that the extras on Dr Horrible's DVD are going to be great. Also, have either of you gotten the latest 'Firefly' set? I heard the extra's on it were awesome. On YouTube they had the commentary from 'War Stories' with Nathan and Alan Tudyk. It was hilarious! They are so funny together! I wonder how come no one else has introduced themselves here yet? Also, I have read several times here and there that Nathan almost lost his eye when he was a kid. Does anyone know if thats true and if so, how it almost happened? Just curious is all.

Perhaps more people will come in time – maybe once the show airs people will feel like they've got something to talk about here.
By the “latest Firefly set” do you mean the new Bluray version they're releasing? I could be wrong but I don't think it's out yet.
The first thing I did after watching Firelfy all the way through (in one sitting from memory) was watch it all again, and then watch all the commentaries on the DVDs – the commentaries they do have there are awesome. I'm looking foward to the new ones that will be on the new DVD set.
I do remember reading somewhere that Nathan had had surgery on his eye when he was young, I remember because when I read it I was facing having to have eye surgery myself so (I never did have it done though … at least not yet). I also seem to remember someone talking about a conversation they had with him where he mentioned that he has two scars on his face, once is above his eye and the other is really hard to see that is right next to his eye – one of them was from an acciident when he hit his head when he was very young but this is second or third hand information so I really can't say for sure.
Edit: I just checked Amazon and it comes out in November

My name is Erin and I live in Atlanta, GA. And yes, Nathan's appearance alone is enough to peak my interest in this series. He is such an amazing actor and the charisma comes right through the screen!!!
I had the pleasure of meeting him at Dragoncon this year and he couldn't have been sweeter. He has the ability to make you feel as though you are the only person that matters to him for that split second :0).
Yes, Firefly is AWESOME!!!! I just discovered the series this summer. In fact, I watched Serenity just one week before Dragoncon. I had the chance to tell Nathan and Alan Tudyk that in the panel on Friday and they were so sweet about it!
I can't wait for Castle to start next year. I'm already telling my friends about it. I hope it's a hit!!!

Hi everyone. Welcome to Erin and Laura! Okay, I somehow thought that there was another release of the Firefly series (not the bluray one), as I mentioned in my last post, that had these great commentaries that had been added in. Imagine my excitement after reading the reply to my post and then upon further inspection of the original set that I already own …. I have the set that has these commentaries on it!! 
I am also a bit embarrassed, but then I've never claimed to be the most observant person I know …. LOL.
Anyway …. Laura, I know how you feel! I've never had the honor of meeting Nathan, either. It would be amazing to do so I imagine. He does seem like a really nice person. And very handsome. talented, tall …. well I could go on and on ….
So, is it 2009 yet!! I can't wait either. Ya'll have a great day!!

I love the addiction reference! My sister likes to say "We're not obsessed…we're intensely focused" :0) In the case of Nathan, I think it's because a guy like him seems too good to be true. Tall, dark, handsome, funny, talented and seems to be a genuinely nice guy. Why can't that kind of guy come into my life in reality????
