Hi Terry.  I'm sorry you feel that way and I really hope you stick it out.  The writers and crew have said that Castle & Beckett WILL get together, so we just need to hang in there.  I'm sure they knew that bringing Demming in would cause lots of concern and angst amongst the fans so your reaction is totally understandable.  It may not happen with the coming season finale, but I'm sure they've got a lot of good stuff in store for us in the future. 

And I admit, I miss their flirting too.

Now this could be leading up to something in the final but its killing there relationship now.  If she leaves "whats his name" then Castle becomes the rebound?  Thats not a good thing.  The man ran into a burning building for her and now she can not give him the time of day.  She knew Castle brought her coffee in the morning, nope just dump it in the trash. 

If what I read is right about Castle's other wife, I would not agree with it as the samething would be happening only on his part.  I did not mind them dating but serious relationship.  Why is Castle even there anymore?  He just gets frustrated, I think he is man enough to not want to see Beckett hurt so not sure if he will interfere with the relationship. 

I do not know.  I can watch episodes over and over and over again.  But the last couple I do not care to watch repeatedly. 

I know the writers must want there things going this way but to me there killing the friendship plus possible romance later.

Castle – get out now, cancel the book and move on.

I agree with you I am not watching the show three times now for the last two episode.  I also miss the banter and yes maybe Beckett is not the same as Castle is not the same also as he is not the same as how he deals with Beckett. Castle does not have the chance to be with Beckett as D is always there.  Doesnt D has his own job to do?

Thank you Terry.  Finally someone else has pointed out the importance of the coffee.  She is wrong on so many levels.

This part I kind of agree with. But to me, the main thing that's been bugging me is the fact that we clearly saw her getting jealous a couple episodes ago, then last week, she was very obviously torn about having feelings for Castle but was afraid that he'd hurt her. We were practically smacked across the face with the idea that, yes, she likes him but is afraid to show it. Then, this week, it was like she could care less. She was perfectly happy brushing Caslte off for Demming and there was absolutely no indication that she was fighting internally about her two guys. It was pretty much, Demming was her boyfriend and who cares about Castle. How could her feelings just disappear like that? I understand that he might have brought the situation on himself a little by acting dumb, but it wasn't so much about him to me, as it was about her inner battle simply vanishing from the screen. It just didn't really jive, it seemed cut off for some reason. I don't know…does that make sense?

Exactly… it's not cohesive at all. Especially if you look at last week's episode and this week's. One minute she's jealous of Castle going on a date… Next, she doesn't even notice he's there? Seriously?
 

And turning down his coffee… I just keep going back to that. It was one of the meanest things she could ever do to him. Castle supplying coffee to Kate is one of the biggest things he's always done for her!

Yeah, I could see her doing it the once, absentmindedly in "Den of Theives" just because she was going to have to turn one of them down either way, and Demming was fist. So, I bought that one, if only for the fact that Castle does bring her coffee every morning so she probably thought, "Meh, he'll be fine." The once, I get, but the part that I don't like is that she keeps doing it. Espicially being who she is, I absolutely don't buy the idea that she doesn't realize how important it is to him. I mean, the man was literally running in early to bring her her coffee. Even if she didn't see the running itself, she's not an idiot. She's a frickin' cop for crying out loud! She has to see that he's all "hurt puppy" everytime she does that to him. C'mon Beckett! Throw the poor guy a bone!

Beckett did peek in on Castle after she kissed Denning, so he isn't completely invisible to her. Still, I agree that Beckett isn't her usual self. I miss the banter, too.

Dare I point out, however, that the problem is not the bad turn in the said 'ship, but the fact that the writers have slowly abandoned a lot of the traits the lead exhibit in S1 – whch, I admit, wasn't perfect, but from poker-playing, smart-assy, ideas man, with an active set of skills (fencing, shooting) he's become a very sorry lapdog. Obviously the idea is that this would be so much funnier. I wouldn't dispute that on its merit, but the elements of the 'shipp changes, and they leveled the play field to her favor – something they've done since the pilot – check the newly added scenes and you'll see (they're easy to spot: her hair is different). They've also built her up prior to the book launch episode to match her fictitious alter ego, which I think was a mistake. And this is the logical corollary of all that. By making her more 'supercop' and lapdogging him to her, she has become more fictitious, and he, more real. It's kind of weird and very dissonant. But hey, we've never seen a show with such a watered-down, abused leading man, so I guess that's a novelty. So if it happens to be true what seems clear, that some lobbied, plotted to build up the female lead here, then the result hasn't quite matched expectations. On the contrary, that the male lead still sustains the show is a testament to the man's charisma. Let's see how S3 develops.

You think they've done it?  No. Take that back. I know it's probably been a while for Beckett but I have to believe the writers will save that part for Castle.  I mean the coffee is bad enough.
