Well put. Good analysis.

Beckett is my favorite character. There's something about her that is hard to explain.

The scene in the pilot when Castle is analyzing her, that's the scene that had me hooked too. From this moment on, I just couldn't stop watching this show. She's the drama part of the show. She's just great.

Great article. And I agree wholeheartedly with it Smile From the first episode it's Beckett who is my absolutely favourite character and there is something really unique about Stana which totally enriches the show and makes it so fascinating. Let's hope she gets to read it!

yeah, like anyone, I cant agree more about stana's performances.

we wrote hundred of this forum pages about face expressions, maybe just one second, of stana and nathan.

and we are analyzing next monday promo only based on few secs of a dancing scene.

 

I fell in love with beckett in the same very moment during pilot. that and the "you've no idea" scene.

And last sec of season 2 last ep, when stana puts her look on the ground, tortured me for the whole summer.

 

every eyebrow lift, every lipbiting, every smile, almost-smile, open-smile, secret-smile, secret gaze, has an entire world behind.

 

I watch more "mature" shows like NCIS or Criminal Minds, down in its 7th or 8th season, and doesnt see an acting of a level even near the acting of nathan and stana. And Susan Sullivan, too.

 

I think it's why we are all here, isnt it?

dmcw, thanks so much for that link.

They really captured everything that we love about her and her performance on the show. Some of the same things are being said in the episode reviews too. Makes me happy to see her get that recognition.

That article explains how I got hooked on Castle as well.  I watched to see Nathan dress up like Capt. Mal in Vampire Weekend, then was struck by Stana's performance.  I rented the first season and from the moment Beckett walked down a hallway in her bulletproof vest with gun drawn and kicked down a door, I thought "Who is that actress?!"  Then the capper was her whispering "You've no idea." in Castle's ear.  So like the writer, I watched because of Nathan, but really got hooked because of Stana (among many other reasons, mind you)

It's also nice to know someone else besides us loyal fans think Stana deserves an Emmy.  And I agree – they should create a category for dramadies.  I know what show would clean up every year in that category …  Innocent
