OfflineI agree about having more action scenes with Stana. Matter of fact I WOULD LOVE it if there was a sparring scene with Stana and Tamala just being girls getting out energy. That would be hilariously awesome to hear them talking girl talk about the guys and throwing punches. Or to have Stana spar with Esposito or Ryan.
After that I definately agree she should run out of bullets in a scene and do hand to hand combat. How cool would that be!

OfflineI recently watched Stiletto and I think detective Beckett needs to do some undercover work.
Stana was absolutely smoking in that movie.

OfflineGuys, honestly. She could beat 'the crap' out of Esposito? Wake up, people. Did you take a look at the Jon's arms? (Or Nathan's – or do you think he's almost always wearing long shirts by accident?) You don't get those by pushing the candy trolley. And have you seen hers? I mean, they look nicely yoga-toned but… suffice to say I'd believe she can beat the crap out of anyone the day I believe in cops running in high heels. And one thing is having an active lifestyle and quite another, I proffer, is being able to handle yourself in a real fight, sans nails and teeth. Granted, a wrestling/judo move in order to cuff someone is believable, but it's the fact it's a cop doing it that's important. And even so, c'mon, seriously, anyone really think the Russian mobster couldn't have handled her for all the time it might have taken C to go run for backup while she pinned him down in the kitchen? Really. I mean, really. He could have tripped and fell back and she would have been flat on the floor like in the cartoons, and I would more readily believe that. So, fight scenes? Handle with care, I'd say. Not what I turn this show to watch. (Unless it involves mud or something equally funny or 'strangely arousing', as spoken by the man himself)

OfflineSecond that. Of course! But do you know what I mean, right? Marlowe cited Rockford and Columbo as the kind of character-driven shows. Since they're way before my time, I'm glad for the dash of X-Files – otherwise the show'd be too bland. But I'd say reality-based, reality-based is the key to this show. It bothers me a lot, f.i., that B seldom flinches/blinks at anything. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, that it could be b/c it's in her personality to be that way, and she simply, simply can't do it, but more likely than not, to me, it's an actor trying so hard to look cool- cooler -rather than reality-based. I throw this wild speculation, totally based in my own perception, because I've seen that happen, it's a game actors play, for a very career-specific reason, which, to sum it up, is this: 'You wanna be typecast as Daniel Craig or the guy who steps back from Daniel Craig?' That's a cool idea if you're Sonny Chiba in a Sonny Chiba movie, or Lee Marvin, Jet Li, etc, and it has to do with what you think your range is, or your possibilities career-wise, but the show seems to want to require something a little different. (However, actors, lead actors in particular, specially on TV, have a great deal to do in how a role is molded) If SK were reading this (she doesn't) I'd say, relax, we know you're beautiful and ultra-charming and smart and you've got a wide range, but dare to be even smarter, find the comedy in the serious/action moments, instead of upping the intensity- you've already done that, season 2 it's on tape -and you'd nail this character in an awesome way, for your own good and the good of the show – both at the same time, without prejudice. (sounds too harsh? hope not, love the show, 'fcourse).
