http://www.gloria.com.hr/inter…..hp?id=6878
There is a "Galerija" tab on the top with seven images I have not seen yet, plus one from 24 and one RC. If there is anyone who speaks Croatian would be so helpsul to make a translation?
If someone wants to save the pictures but can't do it because because of the lightbox gallery, here is a photobucket link:

OfflineThanks for posting, roughly translated with Google Chrome:
This was a turbulent year for Stana Katic, 30-year-old actress who was born in Canada, raised in the U.S., which has its Croatian heart courageously made their way to Hollywood. Stanine parents emigrated to Canada before her birth, trying to create a better life for themselves and their children, they are not allowed to forget their roots. They told them about the country from which they came, they learned the Croatian language. Stana Katic fell in love with theater as a child, and after studying acting in the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago has brought, he says, the most courageous decisions in life – she moved to Los Angeles, though there nobody knew. The first four years received less episodic roles in popular TV serials like "Emergency," "CSI," "24" and "Heroes", and then several months ago, won the role of the New York detective in the series "Castle," which begins broadcast 2009th
However, the past will remember the flat and two film roles – the first in the latest James Bond adventure, 'Quantum of Solace ", which plays a Canadian spy Corinne Veneau, and the other in the film" The Spirit ", which was recently launched in Hollywood , and it stars Gabriel Macht, Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes. And this is just the beginning for Stana Katic ….
Stan, you look fantastic and you have the perfect line: in this holiday days withstand challenges on the table?
- I love all gricnuti and taste, and many would be offended not to participate in the holiday culinary delights. However, always try to take a small amount so that after I have not exhausted at the gym.
How does it happen that starring in the James Bond film?
- Chosen by the director Marc Forester. Actually, I liked him and screenwriter Paul Haggis, so they asked me if I wanted to play in the film. So they wrote the text for the role of Canadian spies. Paul is Canadian, so it is in some ways a homage to Canada. For me it was a wonderful experience: I work with Marc Forester, which is considered one of the best in his work, and work on the film, I have a couple of weeks filming in London.
Are you a child like films about James Bond?
- Of course! They are the fundamental thing of growing up in every European family. And for us who can blame them? World charming spy, shiny cars and espionage is very seductive.
Who, in your opinion, the sexiest Bond?
- All are excellent, perfect look, but I was still the best Sean Connery.
What was it like working with Daniel Craig?
- Daniel has an incredible boyish charm and is exceedingly graceful. Scenes in which I played with him were very demanding, so that the recording was not much room for frivolity, but he, nevertheless, managed to occasionally "spill" that trick.
What kind of men you attract?
- I like big men: big eyes, big lips, big smile, high … My guy is a handsome gentleman, with a big heart, classical elegance, with a little bit of something lupeškog. Something between Gregory Peck and George Clooney.
Is there a Bond girl, which is particularly dear to you and which you can find a happy place?
- Although I agree with most of that Ursula Andress was absolutely the most beautiful Bond girl, to me the best impression Diana Rigg in the film "In the service of Her Majesty and Eva Green in" Casino Royale ". Probably because they are the only two girls that Bond falls in love.
What were the reactions of your family when you told them to get a role in the longest-running franchise?
- Of course, they were very happy, but they are always happy when I'm recording something. I think they were much more important that I worked in London and as a member of the family went with me on the road.
Speaking of your family – your roots are in Croatia … -
Yes, my parents are from Dalmatia. Tata from Vrlika, a mom from Sinj.
Do you have siblings?
- There are many of us, they are all beautiful, tall and intelligent. Most of my brothers and sisters have to do with medicine, and so are very talented and generous, we seriously thought about somewhere in Dalmatia open hospital.
Do you remember the first visit to the homeland of his parents?
- Yes, it was five years, and then I first went to the village. That summer I felt like Heidi: I made friends with the best people in the world, all day I was playing, until our grandmothers would not have called in the evening to come home. Then we went to bed in the morning all over again. When I think of it now, I can not stop laughing. Departures in Dalmatia the most beautiful moments in my life. All we have traveled, met many family members and experienced life in the country.
What about those of your trip remember as the best event?
- When I sat with my mother under the plum was planted by my grandfather, and I combed it, and recalled his childhood.
Do you feel a closeness to the culture of Dalmatia?
- I love the Dalmatian coast, although with this deal can not go there as much as I wanted. No, my brothers go every few months and that they are very envious. On the other hand, I find it very close to the cuisine of the islands, and from her mother I learned to prepare many things, such as cod and chard.
Where did you learn to play?
- I attended art school in Chicago Goodman. It is a traditional school of acting, so we spent in the classroom every day 8-11 hours, learning a little bit of everything – movement, voice exercises, yoga, scene study, masks, theater history and literature, etc. It was a great course. I have learned a lot.
Once you've decided to go to Los Angeles? What were your plans and how it differed from the reality that you found?
- In Los Angeles I came in the summer after I graduated from the Academy.Parents gave me some money and his blessing, and I'm four days traveling to Los Angeles. I thought I had fixed a deal with one company, but when I came, I saw that it was not so.
Yet you can work well …
- Yes, but not overnight. I came to Hollywood, but I'm not running for glory, but for art. In any case, I came here without an agent, acquaintances, and with very little money. I knew that if I stay, I have to do it all alone. Because I have called parents to help me, they would require to return home. And, like all parents who want to protect their children, we would love to see me in a quiet, well-paid and secure job.Dad always told me: "Be zubarica or a lawyer!"
And you would not listen …
- No, I stayed the first few months I really was not easy. I slept in hostels, sometimes in the car, just not to spend money. After a while I found a job – I sold the furniture in a department store in Los Angeles – which is good to me there because I could still rent an apartment. Shortly thereafter, I met his manager, with whom I work today, and began to penetrate the film and television.
Do you believe in fate?
- I believe that everyone is responsible for their own happiness. I believe that anything is possible. Of course, much work needs to be strong willed. I am convinced that everybody – and I mean really – is able to achieve their dreams. Then, do you believe in fate? No, I believe in dreams and serious, tedious work.
A few years ago have appeared in an episode of "Emergency" with Goran Visnjic. How you been working with the Croatian actor?
- Goran is a wonderful actor. We are not thinking that is convenient, but very talented, kind, open and somehow stylish actor. It was my pleasure and honor to work with him. And, moreover, has an incredible sense of humor. The whole time and laugh with me and all members of the crew on the set.
Do you consider a role in the series "Castle", where you have a regular cast, a turning point in his career?
- It is a story of forbidden writer, played by Nathan Fillion, and he, in turn, finds his muse in New York City Detective, played by me. The two of us together to solve crimes, and during that time – even though my character in the series it would never admit – it begins to fall in love with each other. It is somewhat a classic tale of love and hatred. Is this a turning point in my career? I hope so. The series is a great opportunity for me, but, more importantly, my character is very grateful for the acting. She is smart, complicated, self-confident woman who will work with a combination of circumstances in which a man is slowly falling in love.
To now go into your apartment, what we found?
- Everywhere books … I love to read. I have a beautiful apartment in the building from the early 20 century. It had previously inhabited the entire building owners and I believe that there spent unforgettable days. I have an old sauna and bar back to the thirties of last century and the beautiful old-fashioned lights. In my building there are a lot of history. There are ghosts of fame, like Fred Astaire, Jean Harlow, Cary Grant, etc. My walls are in color, and furniture is a mix of French antiques in the Art Deco style. And yet is perfectly comfortable. On the one hand we have the view of downtown Los Angeles, on the other side of the mountain where the famous white letters''Hollywood''.
Recently it began showing the film "The Spirit": Tell us about your role.
- This is the last film by Frank Miller, starring Morgenstern, a girl who helps him to trace the evil Dr. Octopus. "The Spirit" was recorded by an old comic who created Frank's mentor, the late Will Eisner.
Where will you spend the holidays?
- On the beach, with family, with the sun and relax.
What is the best gift that you can get?
- One winter I was driving with a friend in Canada, it was terribly cold. We stopped at a traffic light and saw a man who tried to accommodate the venting subway so he could sleep warm. My friend ran from the car, took off his coat and padded cover man, tutnuvši him a few banknotes in his pocket. The stranger is my friend and hugged her eyes filled with tears told him "thank you". I do not know if I can conjure up the magnificence of that moment of gratitude and human kindness, but something like that for me is the most beautiful gift.?

OfflineThank you Tennisfan for the translation, I thought that there will be a lot of details what the american interviews never touched!
Funny, that now seeing the english text I can understand most of the original as the 10 years of Russian creeps back… (BTW "zubarica" is probably the dentist – I beat the Google [Image Can Not Be Found] )

OfflineThank you for the link halaci and for the translation Tennisfan. What a fabulous interview! Just when I think I can't admire Stana any more, there is another interview that reveals more fabulous things about her. "I believe in dreams and serious, tedious work"…awesome. I so admire her appreciation for her roots, her family, and her craft….as well as her sense of style and her kind spirit.

OfflineHalaci, thank you so much for the link and for providing the pictures in photobucket for us to save. I'd seen a few of them (The spirit premiere, w/Morgan Freeman, 24) but the rest were new and such a delight.
Tennisfan, thank you so much for the translaton. It's much appreciated.
I love reading her interviews. She has so much to say and it's all so positive. Whether it's about her family, her roots, her work, the things that she enjoys, and other experiences. It seems I learn something new about her in each interview.

OfflineThanks so much for that translation. Great interview of Stana. I can see her loving an apartment from the turn of the century, somehow. That classic style never gets old. And she has such respect for the great actors and actresses who came before her and paved the way.
Great gal.
