She throws me for a loop every time I hear her in interviews b/c she uses so many accents. Just curious as to which is her natural accent. So cool.

She is truly talented! Stana can speak six different languages fluently as well as speak in ten different accents!

She's not only talented but fascinating as well.

It's incredible the different accents she's always using.

I think she sounds different in interviews than she does on the show. Glad I am not alone in this thinking. She has a great voice. :)

Interestingly her IMDB page was recently updated to only include "Italian, French, and Serbian"

According to a Serbian friend of mine, Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Slovenian are all very similar (sort of like if you were to compare American English, British English and Australian English)  and most times the areas language is usually referred to as Serbo-Croation.  Interesting that it was changed to just Serbian on her IMDB page.

EWell, the resume on her official website mentions these 5 languages, although agree about the three of them being almost one and very similar to each other.

ETA: I recommend this article on Wikipedia about Serbo-Croatian language: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S…..n_language

Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian are almost the same, our lang is a bit different though. Still, we understand all of those languages perfectly well.

OK Castle, but it's accompany and observe, and not participate and annoy, got it?

She said in a radio interview someone posted recently that she speaks Serbo-Croation, so you all are correct.

And in the red carpet interview she did for Quantum of Solace, she is definitely speaking with a slight British accent. It threw me for a loop too. Maybe she spent too much time around Daniel Craig and the other Brits on the movie and picked up their accent. I find that happening to me when I spend a lot of time around someone with a pronounced accent.

Thumper, that's a very good question. I've been wondering about that myself. I'd love to hear her speak Serbian or French or whatever :D.

On another note, anyone else notice the way she occassionally pronounces words that end with -ing like -ink. Like doink or goink. It's pretty much an Eastern Europe thing, even tho people in Turkey have been known to pronounce it like -ink as well. It's the only thing that kinda reflects her Eastern European roots.

She said in a recent interview (I believe it was the Kilborn Files) that she speaks four languages. I think it was Serbo-Croatian, French, Italian, and I'm not sure what the fourth one was.

Yes, the fourth is English. The fifth was that she can "babble a bit in Greek"…

I wish I knew how to quit you.

If babbling a bit means speaking a language, does that mean I speak at least 7, 8 languages? :P lol. Anyway, did you guys notice the "doink", "goink" thing I mentioned in my previous post?

I don't think she speaks Slovenian, but I'm sure she understands at least a bit of it.

i can't find this, but someone here posted an interview at some event or awards ceremony in which stana lapsed into a british accent (or ate least something european) towards the end… does anyone remember this? it was a bit old, and may have been pre-castle era.
