I spotted this just in time before this week's new edition of the TV guide 'Mikro Gids' was put in the stands here in The Netherlands. The magazine is in black and white in case you were wondering. The interview has some good stuff in it so I'll translate Stana's quotes.

A fistfight is like a dance

(on the easy relationship working with Nathan) We're both Canadian which creates a bond. We laugh at typical Canadian habits like always saying 'eh'. I always say 'eh' except of course when acting.

(on her parents) My parents had to work hard to make a living. That's why I love it even more that they gave my four brothers and sister room to do what we wanted. Literally, they had a huge furniture warehouse where we played endlessly. From the storage boxes we made castles where adventures took place. My drive to use my imagination was born in those times.

(on her early calling to become an actress) I was four and was with my dad at the pizza takeaway when the girl behind the counter asked what I wanted to become, I said 'actress' immediately. My father's mouth fell open but from that moment there was no escaping it. The furniture magazine was also a great stage and all the family had to take part. Of course people were unhappy with the part they had and after a fight broke out that play was cancelled. But it's a good memory, nothing is more fun then acting.

(on Goodman acting school after studying some biology, international relations and law) Some of the things you learn are only apparent after experience makes you open to them in your heart and head. I recently took a Japanese theater training to remain open in communication under physical and mental pressure. Extremely useful.

(on the role in Quantum of Solace) I was pissed off, they did not want to give me the main female role and I did not want to play a character who died. That was problematic as everyone died in that bloody movie

(on physical acting) A fistfight is like a dance. For my new role in The Double with Richard Gere I learned the Russian fighting style Systema where you give someone a suble touch but meanwhile send him to another world. Fascinating. It also helps that I fought a lot with my brothers as a child. I had to survive and to be honest it was a lot of fun. Nothing has changed really, I would like nothing more then to hang on ropes and jump off bridges.

(on enjoying being on Castle) Not just because of the stunts I get to do. There is a lot of acting to be done with Kate Beckett. She has toughness and integrity but also her soft spots. And she gets to show her sexy side more recently. Not bad is it ?
