It is about having a baby boy. It is about preferring one gender over the other. In our country, such a statement would be immediately branded as being 'sexist' as we are not even allowed to check the gender of the baby when a woman is preggers during sonography. 

I see. I don't think here (U.S.) it's considered sexist to express a preference. Some will say they want a boy. Some will say they want a girl. I think most will say they have no preference.

What most likely happened is that this interview was done in English, then translated to French by someone who did not do his research and translated a few quotes the wrong way, like the one about the kiss. Besides, France is not even at the part of the cliffhanger as they haven't seen Knockout yet, so that's where the French translator from Closer might have mixed things up. The majority of the interview does seem to be accurate and Chris Harper is a good reporter from Hollywood. He would not make this stuff up.

And Lulu, you are kinda overreacting, no offense.

Waldkind, I was thinking the same and someone on twitter also explained it sorta like that with some French/English words being mixed up and the words sorta looking alike and if the French translator hasn't seen the S3 finale yet, then it makes sense that it got confused up. I'll ask about it again tomorrow but it made a lot of sense.

I was thinking along the same lines. Poor translation.

But I think, in France they have already seen the complete 3rd season- at least the DVD`s were available there before they were available in Germany (early November or so)…

Maybe next time, one of us should do the English to French translation- or SK herself… Would probably be a little more carefully done.

Interesting, since the DVD`s of season 3 (French version) are def available on amazon (I checked that around late summer before I decided to get them asap from the US .) Mostly, Germany is a little behind, but even here we`re finished with season 3.

sonnenschein they probably have other laws in France. I think in Germany it's not allowed to release episodes on DVDs that haven't aired yet so that viewers will watch tv and not the dvd.

I know, that`s why I thought, it would be the same in France…

The twitter thing is really funny.

It is NOT fake, just badly translated at some parts, and the part about Nathan sabotaging it with the writers is a JOKE.
The interview even said she laughed at her own comment.
The person who translated this back from French to English didn't do much of a good job either and just threw it through Google Translate, which makes some answers seem to be a bit messed up as Google translates stuff too literally and not in conjunction to the words in the sentence., but that doesn't mean it's not authentic.
