Loved both those interviews. And I don't think I'd ever seen the second one – where Nathan talks about getting Beckett naked – emotionally naked, that is. I love Stana's laugh too – she doesn't try to hold it back politely and titter like some women, but just lets it go. Such a laugh brightens my day. B-)
I can tell that she seems to be naturally introverted, but she really does a good job of overcoming that and coming across as very natural and sincere and true to who she is. It's nice to hear Kitten, that she was so great to talk to. I'd be intimidated by someone as talented and attractive as she is, but it's good know that she was so down-to-earth and seemed genuinely appreciative of the fans. That's one reason I've always liked Nathan (and his Firefly castmates for that matter)- they all gave so much back to their fans and don't take the fan support for granted.
And Nathan and Stana really do look like they've become buddies. Just watch their body language in their interviews and they come across as totally relaxed and comfortable with each other. On a separate but related subject, Nathan and Jon Huertas each tweet quite a bit about having beers after a long day of shooting, which comes across on the screen.
Marbs, here is the link to the video I mentioned where Stana winks at the camera after Nathan compliments her portrayal of Beckett: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..I&NR=1
The wink comes about a minute in. Unfortunately, the video cuts off after 5 minutes.
Stana is very girlie and it's fun to see and watch her just giggle.
For me, once I saw her put her hand on his thigh, that's a very telling point that she is comfortable with Nathan. Also in another interview where he hears her shoes and then says "Speak of the devil…" She puts both her arms around him and then he kisses her on the cheek. That was so damn cute! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..l9QrnG0AKQ
I saw a short clip too where there was Nathan, Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn were there and then he was behind the counter, she reaches over to him, has one arm around him and then it looks like he kisses her on the cheek again.
That's why I wish they were also a real life couple. hehehe.
But I am happy that they are good friends off screen and the whole cast gets along well.

OfflineI agree Kitten. That's one of my favorites too. I love the funny graphics they put in to show what Nathan is thinking. I got screencaps of some of them too. And you're right, my favorite part is when she walks in, gives him bunny ears, then puts her arms around him and lets him kiss her. The "What?!" and "She totally plays" comments are great, but I also like it when Nathan keeps interrupting her and he finally says "He interrupts a lot," and without missing a beat Stana says "Incessantly." Fabulous!

I LOVE this radio interview. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related
She's so funny. I love her voice and that laugh.
"He's such a tattle tale, man." "I don't know about the kissing and telling." "Again, you know the kissing and telling thing. Don't do it." "hey you know, knifing people can always be really sexy, sure."
Here's a very short interview of Stana with no make up on. Wow. She really is stunning even without make up.

OfflineThnaks for the links to interviews, everyone. I had seen many of them, but enjoyed watching/listening again!
I was having Castle withdrawal tonight and was flipping through my favorite season 2 scenes on the DVR…not sure if this has been mentioned on this thread, but I love the bathroom scene in Fool Me Once…it's not as if Stana has a lot of dialogue aside from "Castle, what are you doing here?", but she is priceless in that scene…the disgust, curiosity, eagerness, and shock she displays with her facial expressions have me erupting into giggles every time.

Not just video, also press interviews are great
So, two separate threads – one for video interviews and the second one for the press interviews. I can start the video one when I'm back home after work tonight, since I have a lot of video interviews collected in my Youtube account, so it's just gonna be "copy-paste" links

OfflineArgh, my quote button doesn't work. You're so right dmcw, some of Stana's best "lines" are her expressions. That scene in "Fool Me Once" is great, like you said, she hardly says anything but she says so much with those faces. Going back to the pilot when Castle is guessing her life story, her face just speaks volumes about how close his words are hitting to home.
Two of my favorite subtle expressions that say so much are in "Sucker Punch". After he asks if she knows why he chose her and he says "because you're tall", her face is part heartbreak, part resolve and partly touched by the way he summed up his admiration for her in one word. Then at the end, after she says that he makes the job a little more fun, there is kind of an imploring eyebrow raise, like she's just waiting to hear his response to her confession that she actually likes having him around. She really just works the controlled experessions so well, they're part of the dialogue.

OfflineMy quote and reply isn't working either, as usual…Kitten, you mentioned my other 2 favorite nonverbal dialogue moments! I just love that tiny, tiny smile she gives Castle after the "tall" comment…even with that heartbreak still all over her face.
And that eyebrow raise at the end of the ep after she says he makes her job more fun…I like how you describe it as imploring/waiting for Castle's response…I had always imagined it to be like she was saying "You know what I mean? We are so awesome togther…who knows what can happen between us?" with that eyebrow raise.
Amazing acting when you can convey so much more to so many viewers with just a facial expression!

OfflineThe line she says to her Dad, "I don't wanna lose this one, Dad." I love that scene with her and her Dad. It's another side to Kate that we had not seene before. She was part a child and part the determined Detective.

OfflineI can't wait to see the new thread with the videos. I have lots in my youtube account as well but it'll be nice to see if I have them all.
I so agree with all of you about her facial expressions. Whether she's delivering the line or just reacting to something said it's incredible to read all that emotion.

OfflineKitten and dmcw, I agree totally. Those are a couple of my favorite scenes, though I haven't seen the bathroom scene from Fool Me Once for a while. I have some great screencaps of her facial expressions from it though!
And thanks to Marbs for posting the radio interview. It was awesome. Though, it was a little odd that she laughed so much when they brought up Stiletto rather than thanked the DJ for the compliment. Sounded like she was embarrassed by the final film.

Offlinedmcw, I know, it's amazing that she's got such controlled expressions that say so much and still leave room for interpretation. I think I read the eyebrow raise as imploring because I don't think that's she completely sold yet on how great they could be together. Just the week before, in yet another great facial dialogue moment, right after Kyra says "he's all yours", it's almost like it finally dawned on her that there could be more to a relationship with Castle, the look that went across her face was bewilderment at the idea that someone else saw them as a pair and then realization of Castle as an actual love interest. So at the end of "Sucker Punch", that look to me is just waiting for his response because she's finally been totally vulnerable and honest and let her guard down and it seems like she's not entirely sure whether she will get a response from the the grown up Castle or the 12 year old Castle.
I've always liked the way she plays Beckett with a certain hesitation towards being girly around Castle. We know she likes to buy pretty dresses and that she's been a bridesmaid 6 times, but when Castle sends her that beautiful red dress, she wears it but kind of seems unsure of herself when Alexis says she looks great and she says "Really?".
I just love how multi-facted she has made Kate Beckett, and how she's slowly revealing different layers to "the Beckett onion", it feels like she's had so much more actual character development than Castle has had, and it's a good thing Stana is such a controlled actress to bring her to life.

In my opinion, I think Stana is still not used to being complimented on her acting and especially her looks. When the guy mentioned Stiletto, to me it sounded more like, watch her in the movie cuz she's hot. So I think she didn't quite know how to react to it. I have never seen the movie but I have seen some clips of it and it seems like it's a violent movie. And yes, finding knifing people sexy is a little weird. hehehe.

OfflineUm yeah, "violent" is putting it mildly. Not many great lines or careful facial expressions needed when you're gutting a guy with a large knife and then putting a freaking tire iron through another guys face!! She literally stabs him in the face with the tire iron and it comes out the back of his head! Ugh!!!! I watched most of it in fast forward.
I don't remember any lines from that film, just blood. Yet another reason that I'm so glad that Castle really highlights her ability to deliver a line or a raised eyebrow.
Was just watching "Suicide Squeeze", and "Beckett, Kate, Detective, Thank you" is still cracking me up, fangirl Beckett is too funny.
