Castle's partner seems not liking his humour, but her performer, Stana Katic, couldn't ask better.

What do you like with Kate Beckett ?
Her integrity and her fight for justice. She's looking for answers, she became a detective following her mother's murder.
Without this, she might have studied in Oxford university and have lived a "normal life" in Manhattan.

Does she look like you ?
We both are intellectual, but I'm a little bit more liberated, more creative et definitely more frank.
She so reserved that sometimes I feel like she's 10 years older than me ! (laughs)

Were you a fan of cop's tv shows before playing in Castle ?
What I like is "Columbo" and "Sherlock Holmes', the classics of the genre.
I don't watch TV a lot, and I never watch cop's tv shows.
Generally, new cop's tv shows are very dark, very technical, while Castle's got a light and funny tone.
I think it's much more entertaning.
It's a perfect combination between police investigation and romantic comedy.

What surprises you the most in the show ?
I don't know if it's surprising, but what I like the most is the teasing between Kate and Rick.
This classical atmosphere like Clark Gable and Rosalind Russell.
This exchange of cutting remarks between man and woman right in the middle of a flirt is delightful !

You seem to love flirting, is it something innate ?
I don't know … Isn't it a passion like any other ?
I really love this anyway ! I love passionate and spirited women.
Same for men ! (laughs)

How would you describe you're relationship with Nathan Fillion, your partner in the show ?
He's adorable. He tortures me sometimes by bringing me wine gum from Canada, because
he knows that i'm addict, but apart from that, he's a pussycat ! (laughs)
He's super funny, loves to make other people laugh. We spend great time working together.
He's like the big brother who gives me advices, we can always rely on him…
I hope he'll soon find someone fantastic to share his life.

Nathan said that he's too old to do stunts himself, what about you ?
I love stunts ! It's besides a problem, because initially,
I've studied martial arts. Usually, when you attack somebody, you use all your strength while
here you don't. I really need to concentrate to control myself when we're shooting fight scenes,
because I really could hurt someone, if I'd let myself go ! (Laughs)

What would you like in the coming episodes ?
We know more about her little-by-little. I think we'll see a wilder side of her, funnier and a little more
liberated.
I would like people to learn more about her private life, her relationship with her father since her mother's murder and the outcome of this investigation.
She's a really interesting character and I'm happy that we catch a brief glimpse of what
happens under the surface.
I hope she'll let herself go, going out on the evening with friends, do shopping,
and why not looking for a boyfriend. She deserves it after all !
