In many of Stana's interviews, she mentions The Thin Man movies as a sort of an inspiration for Castle, and the Beckett/Castle relationship.   Well if you are in the US and have Turner Classic Movie channel (I think it is a basic cable station for most people who have cable), it will be on this Saturday morning, November 28th at 8 or 9 am depending on where you are.  Check you local listings smile

And for you crazy Black Friday shoppers, it will be on just in time for when you get back home after your 4am shopping madness smile

I'll have to see if I can find it on the local listings. I'll be lucky to be awake though. I plan to catch up on some much needed sleep this week! lolSleep

Check your local library – they often have DVDs of old films that can be rented FREE!!!!  I love that word, "free"….and while you're there, you could also pick up the book upon which the films were based.  The Thin Man, by Dashiell Hammett.Read  Or visit the TCM website to watch clips of the film, trivia, etc.  http://www.tcm.com

I checked the bing link and laughed all the way thru it!  But they left out my favorite line:  "What's that man doing in my drawers?!" ROFL

I love TCM it's the main channel I watch all the time. The Thin Man movies are shown often. I also like His Girl Friday which is another man-woman banter movie Stana refers to. It's with Grant – Russell and a favorite of mine.

I was watching season 1 today and caught a funny quote of Beckett's I hadn't caught before. In episode 3 Castle says to her," Why don't you come and play poker with us, or strip poker? She replies, "I am into mystery not horror!"

I love that line just so Beckett she can be as funny as he is with one liners. The writers of the series have great one liners, it's fun to find them when you least expect it from all the cast. They deliver the zings so well a very talented cast.

I keep going back to the same episodes when watching season one I really like 1,5,9,10.

I like season 2 episode 1 really well and have found myself watching it a lot.

TCM has a lot of banter couple movies with great teams interesting Stana might just be a fan of TCM old movies.

I saw this link posted on another site and I really enjoyed it.  It is a commentary on the Thin Man series and discusses the appeal of the relationship between Nick and Nora.  It made me think of so many things I enjoy about the relationship between Castle and Beckett, and how appealing they would be as a couple.

Lovely video! Thanks for the link. I like what the commentator says about loyalty. Castle and Beckett would definitely have that. They already do.

I loved the movies from the first time i sayw them on tv. Though i have to admit the first 2 ones are the best i think they were quite ahead of their time then with the relationship between Nick and Nora.
