Positive Finale Ratings

The ratings figures are in for last nights Castle finale and the news is positive. Overall viewers for the episode increased from last week to 10.55 million however there was a slight drop in the all important 18-49 rating from last week’s 2.8 to 2.5 maintaining a share of 7 meaning that Castle’s finale held on to some of the impressive growth established last week after returning to a time slot directly following Dancing With The Stars.
Based on the ratings over the past two weeks it is looking unlikely that “Castle” will be cancelled.
News of ABC series renewals is expected to be announced on May 19.

I often find that the TV programs I like don’t make it on prime time very long, there has been a few that became Hits Law and Order and ER:
CASTLE is in the running for my all time favorite, new program
I like the new Idealistic twist on an old detective format…I think with a better time slot this show could make it to the TOP of detective TV shows

We love this show, but unfortunately discovered it more than half way through the series! Since we don’t watch a lot of t.v., must have missed the previews and Pilate-show. So now that we look forward to it every Monday night, would hate to find that it’s being canceled. It’s possible the timing of it is why the fan base didn’t pick up; but I don’t mind it later like that. Canceling it now would be the biggest bummer, just like when they canceled FireFly. Give people a chance to discover the dang thing! Not everyone spends 24/7 looking at the black box. There are so few shows we feel worth sitting through; So… honestly, this is a wonderful program, wit yes… but considerate as well. I loved how dear and UN-cynical the Dad was with the Daughter regarding her first real date. Very sweet. When do you see that in the movies, on any network? So… Thanks for that. And the flirtation between the two main characters is a blast. We love the relationships of all the characters, getting more complex as the show moves forward. (And frankly, of course, we’re very pleased to be seeing an ex-Firefly actor doing well, and carrying on with his mischief in a completely unrelated series.) Please keep this show on the air, the writing is great, the acting is great; the actors all look like this is just so much fun, makes it a pleasure to watch; theme-wise, reminds me of Remington Steele, and the Moonlighting shows, though I like the premise of this better. And it’s believable stuff, it’s interesting and suspenseful, a bit of a romp, enough romance to make it sweet; enough realism but not so much that you’re grossed out completely, and all of that is what we like. It’s entertaining, isn’t that the point? Keep it on the air please.! : ) It’s a great show.

I can’t believe you are canceling this show. It has a decent plot tyohat is developing well. I love to watch this show. It makes my week to watch it.
I can;t believe you show the rest of the drek you put on and get rid of a great progam like Castle.

i agree. this show makes my Monday nights. It is light, yet serious. It is a great twist on the procedurals that are currently on the other networks. ABC has to bring this show back. It is great family entertainment

I don’t know where you you get the information that “Castle” is being cancelled but this has not been stated anywhere – the decision as to whether or not Castle will be renewed has not been announced yet. The official announcement is due on the 19th however I suspect we may hear something on Friday

I look forward to Mondays because I know “Castle” will make my day! I love the witty writing, the chemistry between the actors and all over look of the show. I laugh out loud at the dialogue. Please don’t let it go….

Best show to come on TV in years! Casting is perfect, very entertaining, not offensive in any way. Appeals to all ages, I have 2 daughters that love this show as well as I, we’re especially enjoying the guy who plays Castle, he’s adorable!

You’d have to be crazy to cancel this show.

Please keep CASTLE! It’s funny, witty and a great show for me and my daughter to watch. It’s our only hope for Monday evenings. Please come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVE THIS SHOW! It’s one of the best shows out in a very long time. Well written,
intellegent & funny. The plots and story lines are great and the characters are
wonderful. This show just keeps on getting better. Looking forward to next season. There is hope for network tv yet.

This show is the next Moonlighting. Perfect plot twists and acting is great. Finally a nice change for television.

I LOVE this show. Hope it stays on the air. This is my favorite show on the air right now. I have been telling as many people about it as I can about it. They all love it by the way. So please ABC keep this one around awhile.

This is the best detective show on TV for quite some time. The writers, actors and stories ore right “on sync”. Lots of entertainment, mystery and a catchy romance between the two main characters. Castle’s mother is a delight, perfect for this kind of show. Am looking forward to it’s Fall opening!

I love this show. It and Fringe were the only shows of the new crop I watched this season. If Castle is not renewed, I will really be scratching my head. It has great long term potential, Nathan is superb in his role, and I also find the mother and daughter to be excellent in their roles. I love how the show always starts with a crime and a twist, and am digging his interaction with the squad.
REALLY WELL WRITTEN, WITTY, AND ENJOYABLE IN EVERY RESPECT. THANKS AND LOOK FORWARD TO S2 – I THINK A SERIAL KILLER IS LURKING OUT THERE SOMEWHERE.
Nice cameo by Robert Picardo in the finale.

We really enjoy watching Castle and hope they’ll bring it back for a Season 2. All the characters are interesting and relate well within the show. If ABC is smart, they will definitely bring it back. ABC, are you listening???

My wifeand I live a very busy life and I am ussually working when Castle airs. We rarely sit down to watch TV. She watches DWTS and told me about this show in the second week. I immediately went online and found this site. I have been watching it online ever since. This is the show that has brought me back to TV series’. The combination of story line, action and wit make it among the best I have ever watched. I look forward to more shows and hope it is still around when I can sit down to enjoy it on the 60 inch that I rarely see these days.

This is a wonderful show– I’m an attorney and my husband is law enforcement =- we have challenging and busy jobs, so when I say we pick and choose which television are “do not miss” shows for us, I mean it. If anyone out there is listening, add our votes to keeping this on the air!

I’m glad to hear the ratings are going well. Like most other posters here, I think this is a great new show. I got a little worried when I didn’t hear season finale for Monday’s show and there was no show next week. Can’t wait for season 2.

FINALLY, a tv show that is worth watching and keeping up with. I absolutely love Castle and all of the characters. NOW THIS IS TV. I hope this show continues on with many years of success.

I absolutely love this show! I look forward to Monday nights to see the interaction with Castle and Beckett. I wish it was at an earlier time slot though. A lot of people I talk with say they wish it was at an earlier time slot. But whatever time slot it appears, I will be watching. I have already placed an order for the first season on dvd. Thanks for such a refreshing new show.

I LOVE this show!! It is the absolute best!! I love mystery, and the humor, and the great chemistry with all the characters!! I am SO looking forward to next season!! YAY for a great show!!

I was watching a show on Lifetime wiht Fillion in it, I like him so much, I decided to research him on IMDB.com when I was lucky enough to find he has this show. I can’t wait to see it and began watching it. Nathan Fillion is a hunk.
