Who knew Castle was a betting man? “I m really looking forward to the second episode because there s something involving a bet, two cases being solved, and a competition between Beckett and Castle and me and my partner Esposito to see who can solve their cases,” says Seamus Dever, who plays Det. Kevin Ryan on the ABC show, Castle, which returns September 21.
Boys will be boys—on and off camera. “It turns very childish between the boys and the precinct,” Dever says. “It s actually a lot of the way John and Nathan and myself are on set. We play around a lot.”
And adding more girl power to the Castle cast this year is someone who is no stranger to men with Hollywood-size egos. Entourage star and Dancing with the Stars contestant Debi Mazar is coming on board in a recurring role as Castle s new literary agent. “She s only shot one episode so far and I know she s going to have a busy dancing schedule so hopefully we can get her a few more times because she was lovely to work with,” Dever says. “She brings an interesting element to the role.”
